Physical Education (PE) is one of the most important subjects taught in primary schools.
At St Mark’s we recognise that PE can be a great way to get children involved in sport and to introduce them to activities they would never otherwise try.
All classes in the school have weekly PE and games lessons. Year 4 have one weekly swimming lesson at Dormers Wells Leisure Centre for half of the school year.
As a London school we are extremely lucky to have a large school field, which is very well used as part of our PE activity program. We also have a dedicated PE teacher who has forged close links with local high schools, especially West London Academy and Brentside High School.
We also run several Sports Clubs as part of our extra curricular activity. These include a Friday morning running club, gymnastics, boys and girls football, netball, karate, tag rugby and tennis. For more information see our School Activity Clubs schedule.
If your child is unable to participate in PE lessons for any reason, please send a note of explanation to your child’s class teacher. We value your help and cooperation in ensuring your child has the correct PE kit in school, as all children must participate in this important area of the National Curriculum.
