Pupil Premium Funding
The Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) is a grant given to schools for each child who claims free school meals currently or who has done so in the past six years. Research has shown that pupils who have been or are on free school meals do not attain as highly as other children in school. The government provides this grant so we can allocate additional support to ensure that disadvantaged children do attain well. The support can be in a short burst or over a longer period such as a term or a year or more. It may take the form of one-to-one support, small group teaching or additional teacher support in class. It could also be enrichment or access to opportunities that enhance learning and aspiration.
Our main aims are:
- To close the gap in attainment for those pupils eligible for the Pupil Premium Grant in all subjects
- To maintain high expectations and standards for all pupils eligible for the Pupil Premium Grant
- To ensure that all pupils are given the same opportunities to achieve and participate in activities in and outside school
